Louis Taylor - Altair Pflug Taylor
Louis Taylor has worked in the arts, theatre and film industries as a producer, actor, teacher, acting coach, dancer, writer, director (both in theatre and film) assistant director, casting director, outreach co-coordinator and script consultant.
He has written, co-produced and directed seven short films that have screened at over twenty-five film festivals internationally including: Hotdocs, IDFA and the Venice International Film Festival. Awards include Best Video at the Oberhausen International Short Film Festival (Filmothek), Best Documentary at the Pacific Coast Film Festival, Best Screenplay at the Laguna Beach Film Festival, 2nd Prize in the Documentary category at the Palm Springs International Short Film Festival and a honourable mention at the Black Filmmaker’s Hall of Fame awards.
Nominations include Best Short award at Hot Docs International Documentary Festival, First Appearance at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam, Best Script and Best Multicultural/Race Relations awards at the Yorkton Short Film Festival and Outstanding Director and Documentary at the Reel Black Awards. They have aired on PBS, Bravo, Canadian Reflection (CBC) and Zed TV (CBC) and Czech Television.
Project Title: Spawn & Geezer
Spawn and Geezer is a documentary/reality show like no other. A Black, 60 year-old, contrarian and his 20 year-old multiracial, bisexual, non-binary identifying child reflect on their unconventional and loving relationship and the insanity of the world surrounding them with biting humour, provocative insights and offbeat anecdotes.
